NEW! Pictures from the race

8k XC race. First place, course record (or, a new World Record for this race! as the director put it). Good race, happy to be done racing this season and looking forward to training for a spring marathon. Race report and pics in the next day or two...

Before I clicked on the Bloglines link I whispered "first place" at the screen.

Nicely done Eric, can't wait to read about it. You'll surely have every runner in North Dakota gunning for you next year, so hit that base!

First place and a course record, but, more importantly, the words "good race" which I think I haven't read on your blog before.

Congratulations, and very well deserved, too!

Congratulations on the race, well done! Will you be doing other XC races prior to the weather turning?

Thanks all.

The temperature is cold! 24F/-4C this morning, and it's a pretty nice morning for mid-November. No snow yet, which is great, but abnormal.

No more races. I am done done done. I've been in racing mode basically since February of this year with a short recovery break in May/June from the marathon. The last few weeks, it really started to be a drag, so I need to get back to base building and dial back for a while.

Sanity is calling.

Great to finish the season with a 'World Record'.

It looks like a tough course. Cool too with the gloves. Thought you might have been doing a Ryan Hall approaching the finish. I don't think your knees would be legal for race-walking ;)
